You can host your streaming video on the Google video beta search engines for free, and easily share them with others. The servers are fast, and searchable, the only downside I see is the embeded player at Google. It usually starts up with the video as big as your screen allows, instead of at 100% of it's original size. You need to set the size to 100% to see it at full quality. You can also download the google video beta player.

How to upload your video to Google:

  • If you already have a google account, sign in.

  • If not, create a Google video account account by clicking next to the search button.
    Upload video to Google.

Once you create a Google account you will be asked to download a small program that allows you to upload video to Google's server. You then log into the server and add descriptions and keywords for each video you have sent up. There is a short period while the video is being approved before it goes live, usually just a few minutes.

You are also allowed to sell video to others and to choose wherther or not to allow people to download your video or use it on other sites.

Acceptable File Formats:

The best way to get your videos included in Google Video beta is to submit each file in their preferred format, which is Mpeg4. However they accept video in AVI, ASF, QuickTime, WMV and MPEG formats, however, they currently do not accept Flash files. (Specific video codecs they accept include H.264, H.263, MPEG 1/2/4 and motion JPEG.)

I have found that they have no problems with windows media files like .wmv's and post them quickly.

Google video beta video quality guidelines:

Please upload the best quality file you have available. Their servers are very good and can handle it. I prefer a high quality wmv around 400x300, but they will take 720x480 AVI's if you want. For content originating from cell phones, webcams, etc., upload your file as is.

For content originating from a DV camera or other high quality source, we recommend encoding at full-frame size and a high bit rate (you won't go wrong with interlaced MPEG2 at >5Mbps and 720x480 or 720x576 resolution).

System requirements for the Google Video Uploader?

You must be operating on Windows 98 or higher, Mac 10.3 or higher, or any OS that has Java 1.4.1 or higher in order to install the Uploader. Youl need a broadband connection to upload video.

WE CAN CONVERT YOUR VIDEO TO STREAM FROM THE WEB OR HELP YOU LEARN HOW TO DO IT!

Streaming Video has many available formats. We can produce Quicktime, RealVideo, DIVX, or Windows Media 9. The WMV format has by far the best download time/quality ration. It can be made to open in Windows media player, or be played right in the page, like this example. It should be noted that this was NOT shot in a studio, but sitting at my desk in my office. The technology is completely portable.

We can shoot 3CCD broadcast quality film for tutorials, product demonstrations, or just about any application and prepare video to stream from your site. Choose OPEN when asked to open or save.

*If asked to download the new driver when you click it, say yes! It only takes a moment and makes all of your Windows Media play faster and better.

The only limit is our imagination. Add sound, streaming video and photo galleries.
You can even burn your entire site to a business card size CD!
