HighTech workers risk Heart Disease in US and Canada

Studies show that the high-tech industry has stress levels on par with stock brokerages and medical personel! We already know that stress contibutes to 70% of all disease, so how do we avoid that heart attack?

Workers are always under the gun for deadlines and dealing with broken code etc. Jobs are being shipped to India and else where, and the net result is a health danger to workers in need of stress relief. Taking the wrong stress relievers for releif can accelerate the problems, leaving high tech workers at risk for heart attack, obesity, and other problems. The russians seem to have found a solution in a group of herbs called adaptogens. All Russian Cosmonauts take them daily, as do all Russian Olympic athletes, so why aren't we using them in the US?

By its very nature, "High Tech" means transitions and change, and this means consistently high levels of stress from adapting to these changes. Our primitive mechanisms for adjusting to change are often over-whelmed by the High-Tech world of change that we need to live and work within. Virtually everyone agrees that negative transitions such as; job insecurity due to downsizing , or financial insecurities, or health challenges (ie, sickness, chronic illness, injury, emotional symptoms of stress, etc.), or relationship insecurities (divorce, dating, family role changes, two income families), and international or regional political upheavals are viewed as stressful with potential downsides to your health and well-being.

The level of job insecurity contributes to stress in High Tech employment.
About 66% of employed participants reported a moderate sense of insecurity related specifically to their present employment (e.g., believed their jobs would not continue for long). Only 3% of the employed participants were certain they would not be laid off. Hence, there was a general, pervasive, sense of uncertainty that left almost everyone concerned to some degree. As one participant stated “I am more secure now than a few months ago - but nothing is certain ever.”

Eat right, meditate, exercise, yada yada blah blah etc. It's all true, we know it already, and we do as much of it as we can, but it's our schedules that trip us up. As a group we often work around 55 to 60 hours a week. Then there is getting ready, and the commute, and the number one thing in the way is "When am I going to do these things?"

We should do them. Absolutely true, but what else can we do? Drugs aren't the answer to anything so what is the solution?

We should follow the advice of the Russians. 1200 doctors performed 3000 clincal studies over 45 years on a group of Russian herbs called adaptogens. That makes them THE most researched stress relievers in history. By comparison there were only 230 tests done on aspirin!

Do the Math: Click the links in the lines below for the proof of the statements.

These Facts 1. 70% of all disease is contributed to by Stress
2. Stress can cause Cancer, Heart Disease, Obesity and Depression
3. Cortisol is the hormone in the body that increases stress.
(2700 research papers in US alone.)
4. Adaptogens reduce or eliminate cortisol.
     (3000 studies, 1200 doctors, 500,000 people)

Arrive at this conclusion: 5: Adaptogens save lives and help prevent disease.

If that isn't enough math:

  • Average family health policy nears $11,000 - USA TODAY
  • Additional billing AFTER insurance is $4000 more!
  • Vitalife adaptogens help prevent disease.

Which costs more (much, much more) per year, Vitalife adotogens, or the money you spend at the doctors even after your health insurance?

The bottom line is take some action to prevent the damage from stress, or suffer the consequences. That's just the fact of the matter in today's world.
